🚨 Stay Safe from Housing Scams

Finding your dream room shouldn't be stressful! Sadly, scammers sometimes target students during peak rental seasons. Remember these tips to protect yourself:

Red Flags to Watch For:

  • Landlords "abroad" who can't show the apartment

  • Pressure to pay immediately ("others are interested!")

  • Requests for large deposits or foreign bank transfers

  • Refusal to share their full name/Swedish ID

BoPoolen.nu's Safety Tips:
1️⃣ Verify identities via Swish (send 1 SEK to see their real name)
2️⃣ Video call landlords & match their ID to their face
3️⃣ Never pay upfront -- only after signing a contract + getting keys!
4️⃣ Check if they're registered at the address (try hitta.se)
5️⃣ Reverse-image search photos to spot fake listings

👉 Always visit the apartment first!
👉 Report suspicious ads to BoPoolen.nu -- they manually review all listings!

💙 BoPoolen.nu is a non-profit by Lund's Student Unions (LUS). They're your safety net!

Remember:
✅ Real landlords have Swedish bank accounts & phones
✅ No rush -- most students find great homes!
✅ When in doubt, ask BoPoolen.nu for help!

Stay scam-free and happy house hunting! 🏡✨
